Azerbaijan increases freight transportation by railway by nearly 21%

In January-August of this year, over 5.108 million tons of cargo worth more than $2.46 billion were transported by railway in Azerbaijan, up by 20.8% and 1.05%, respectively, from a year earlier, Report informs.
Azerbaijan exported 2.1 million tons of cargo by railway worth $798.271 million and imported more than 3 million tons worth $1.66 billion. Compared to the same period last year, exports increased by 24.8% and 17.8%, and imports by 18.2% and 0.4%, respectively.
