Azerbaijan backs Türkiye's bid to host COP31 in 2026

Azerbaijan fully supports Türkiye's candidacy to host the COP31 UN Climate Conference in 2026, Mukhtar Babayev, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on Climate Issues, said at the 4th Azerbaijan–Türkiye Energy Forum held in Izmir, Report informs.
He noted that Türkiye's contribution to the global climate agenda, the important decisions it has made, and its regional leadership inspire confidence in its ability to successfully fulfill this significant role.
"As the COP29 Presidency, we wish Türkiye every success on this path," Babayev said.
