Industrial production decreases by 2% in Azerbaijan

In January-June 2023, industrial enterprises and private entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan produced industrial goods worth 34.7 billion manats ($20.41 billion) - 1.6% less year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

Over the past year, production in the oil and gas sector decreased by 2.3%, while in the non-oil and gas sector, it increased by 6.5%.

According to the committee, 69.5% of industrial production was formed in the mining sector, 25.3% - in the processing sector, 4.4% - in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.8% - in the water supply sector, waste treatment and recycling.

In the mining sector, commercial oil production decreased by 7.7%, while commercial gas production increased by 3.2%.

The production in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam increased by 3.6%, and in the sector of water supply, waste treatment and recycling - by 17%.
