Azerbaijan increases revenues from polypropylene exports by 86%

In December 2021, Azerbaijan exported polypropylene in primary forms worth $15.7 million, up $7.5 million or 91.5% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the Export Review of the Azerbaijani Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication.

In 2021, Azerbaijan exported polypropylene in primary forms worth $120 million, $55.5 million or 86.04% more than the previous year.

The SOCAR Polymer project includes polypropylene plants with an annual capacity of 184,000 tons and high-density polyethylene plants with a yearly capacity of 120,000 tons. The polypropylene plant was commissioned on July 18, 2018, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Italian President Sergio Mattarella. Export of polypropylene started on October 5.
