Baku. 15 February. REPORT.AZ/ Winners in 4 Winter Olympic Sports have been identified at the Winter Olympic Games in South Korea's Pyeongchang. With no more halfpipe or slopestyle competition, the snowboarding events at the 2018 Winter Olympics turned to the boardercross events on Wednesday evening.

Report informs, the big final, the one to determine the podium finishers, consisted of Pierre Vaultier of France, Regino Hernandez of Spain, Nick Baumgartner and Mck Dierdorff of the United States and Alex Pullin and Jarryd Hughes of Australia. The win went to Vaultier, with Hughes finishing .27 seconds behind, and Hernandez finishing .38 seconds behind, for gold, silver and bronze, respectively.

Among women U.S. skier Mikaela Shiffrin won her second career gold medal and her first of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in the women's giant slalom at the Yongpyong Alpine Center in South Korea.

Norway's Ragnhild Mowinckel won silver, 0.39 behind Shiffrin's combined time of 2:20.02.

A stunning second lap by Ragnhild Haga of Norway propelled her to Olympic gold in the women’s 10km freestyle race in a time of 25:00.5. Charlotte Kalla of Sweden took the silver, more than 20 seconds behind, while Marit Bjoergen of Norway and Finn Krista Parmakoski tied for the bronze medal.

Notably, the only representative of Azerbaijan in the Winter Olympic Games Patrick Brachner will participate in slalom and big slalom competitions in mountain skiing.
