Qatar Football Association punished player before game with Azerbaijan

Baku. 9 February. REPORT.AZ/ Qatar Football Association (QFA) decided to punish player of national team and “Al Sadd” club Hamid Ismail. 

Report informs referring to official website of the association, the executive committee temporarily banned 23-year-old player from all tournaments.

He was sanctioned due his offensive words towards QFA after 19th round match in national championship between “Al Sadd” and “Al Shahania”, which ended 1:1. Final decision on Hamid Ismaili will be issued after investigation. But by request of “Al-Sadd” club QFA allowed him to take part at the game against Iranian “Istiglal” in Asia Champions League, which they lost 3:4 after penalty shootout.

Notably, Azerbaijan national team will play friendly match against Qatar on March 9. The game to be played at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha city will kick off at 20:00 Baku time.
