Number of medals won by Azerbaijani athletes this year announced

Baku. 18 December. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani athletes won 851 medals in all international competitions in 2017.

Report informs, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said at the ceremony dedicated to the sport results of 2017. According to him, 347 medals are gold: "The number of medals is more than last year. This shows that development of sport is dynamic, and our athletes consistently win great victories. We have gained 851 medals and it is gratifying that our athletes are champions and winners in combat, team and intellectual sports".

Notably, Azerbaijani sportsmen won 837 medals in 2016. 297 of them were gold medals.
