    New president of IAAF elected

    Sebastian Coe gained 115 votes

    Baku. 19 August. REPORT.AZ/ A new president of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) was elected. Report informs, the elections took place at the 50th Congress held in Beijing, China today.

    2 candidates competed to take the lead in the IAAF. In the 6th presidential election, Sergei Bubka won the confidence of 92 members while Sebastian Coe - 115.

    After the vote, the newly elected head, S.Coe said: "Delighted and humbled by the confidence shown in me by the IAAF family - thank you, now the hard work begins."

    IAAF president will take the office on August 31.
