Judokas from South Korea and DPRK may perform under single flag in World Championship in Baku

Baku. 7 June. REPORT.AZ/ National Judo Team of South Korea and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) may perform a single flag in the World Championship in Baku this year.

Report informs, it was discussed at the meeting of the national federations of the two countries with the President of the International Judo Federation, Marius Vizer, during the Grand Prix in Hohhot, China. The sides said they would continue negotiations in this direction. The issue is expected to be settled on June 10.

It is clear that athletes from both countries will join the East Asian Championship, which will start on June 9 in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia, as a single team. The International Judo Federation reported.

Athletes will perform under a single flag during the race. Instead of the hymn, Korean folk song Arirang will be sounded.

Notably, the world championship in Baku will be held on September 20-27.
