Italian gymnasts to arrive in Baku upon agreement

Two Italian athletes will compete at the FIG World Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Baku.

Report says via Sportface that Vanessa Ferrari and Lara Mori will join the race in Azerbaijan despite restrictions applied by the Italian government due to coronavirus outbreak. Vanessa Ferrari is a one-time world champion and four-time European champion. Lara Mori won silver and bronze medals at last year's Universiade in Naples, Italy.

Both gymnasts will compete in the third round of the World Cup upon a particular agreement signed by the Italian National Olympic Committee. The athletes decided not to miss the tournament since the competition in Baku is a qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games.

The National Gymnastics Arena will host the World Cup on March 12-15.
