FINA vice-president put pressure on judges at Olympics

International Swimming Federation (FINA) Vice-President for Asia Zhou Jihong has been accused of intimidating and unethical treatment of judges at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics.

According to Report, citing Inside the Games, the 57-year-old Chinese official reprimanded New Zealand judge Lisa Wright for the low scores of Chinese representatives in the diving competition.

She claimed that Wright was biased against Chinese athletes and that there would be unpleasant consequences for the referee.

The FINA Technical Committee did not find any serious errors in the judge's case. The Ethics Commission is currently investigating Jihong's behavior. Previously, the vice-president also put pressure on judges in major competitions.
