Event on International Sports Day underway on Baku Boulevard

The Days of "Healthy Life" have started.

April 6 - "Healthy Life" days started on the occasion of International Sports Day.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports told Report that everyone can take part in the event, which will last until April 10 in the National Seaside Park (Baku Boulevard).

The event participants will test their physical skills by fulfilling sports standards for their age groups.

The events are arranged in 11 age groups - 6-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

It is possible to pass sports standards for running, long jump, weightlifting, horizontal bar, throwing the ball, bending and opening arms from a standing position, and strengthening the abdominal muscles (clean and press).

No pre-registration is required. Certificates are issued to all participants who meet the standards.

More than 700 residents met the standards and received a certificate on the first day.

It should be noted that the International Sports Day for Development and Peace is a new date in the sports calendar. On August 23, 2013, the UN General Assembly unanimously decided to mark April 6 as International Sports Day.
