Baku. 23 October. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan national team participating in the world junior judo championship in Nassau, Bahamas, have returned to Baku.
Report informs that at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport they were welcomed by representatives of the sports community, journalists, athletes' relatives and others.
Notably, the Azerbaijani national team represented by 6 male and 3 female athletes claimed two medals. In the 55 kg divisions Rovshan Aliyev defeated Balabay Agayev. Aliyev, who won with a gold point, was crowned the world champion. Agayev won silver medal. In the 44 kg divisions among women Shafaq Hamidova took the fifth place. With this result, the Azerbaijan national team took the 4th place among teams and 3rd place in male competitions following Japan and Italy.
