Azerbaijan's NOC receives no specific response from Paris 2024 regarding returned medals

The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Azerbaijan has not yet received a specific response from the organizing committee of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games regarding the returned medals of Azerbaijani athletes, NOC Vice President Chingiz Huseynov told journalists on June 12, Report informs.

He noted that all necessary actions were taken to replace the low-quality medals awarded to Azerbaijani athletes at the games in Paris.

"We have done all the necessary work, and all the information was submitted to the International Olympic Committee. The IOC forwarded this issue to the Paris 2024 organizing committee. The organizing committee has practically ceased its activities. Only some of its structures remain. Now these structures are working on this issue. We have not yet received a specific response. However, we were promised that the issue would be resolved," Huseynov said.

Serious changes occurred in the medals of five out of seven Azerbaijani athletes who became medalists at the games in Paris after some time, their quality deteriorated.
