From October 1, taxi drivers will also be required to have a COVID-19 passport with both doses of the vaccine, chief of the public relations department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police major Elshad Hajiyev told Report.

From October 1, raids are expected against all taxi drivers operating in the territories of the country who have no COVID-19 passport.

"The sphere of activity and services for which vaccination against coronavirus or an immunity certificate is mandatory includes cargo and passenger transportation by vehicles, including taxi. It is reflected in the Annex to Resolution No 229 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated July 26, 2021. Persons engaged in cargo and passenger transportation by vehicles, including taxi drivers, have to get their first shot against coronavirus from September 1 and the second dose or have an immunity certificate from October 1. The police officers have the right to check the presence of the COVID-19 passport or an immunity certificate of persons engaged in cargo and passenger transportation by automobile transport, including taxi drivers. All measures aim to protect people's health in fighting the coronavirus pandemic and overcoming its consequences," Hajiyev said.
