State Border Service: 470 people wanted in Azerbaijan detained at border last month

Baku. 11 August. REPORT.AZ/ In July 56 people have been detained under 33 cases for violating Azerbaijan's state border, Report was told in the press center of the State Border Service.

The service said that 19 of the detained are citizens of Azerbaijan, 10 of Bangladesh, 5 Uzbekistan, 4 Nigeria, 4 Russia, 4 Pakistan, 3 Iran, 2 Georgia, 2 Cameroon, 2 Sri Lanka, and 1 - citizen of Moldova.

According to the information, 30 people have been detained at green border in 15 cases for violating rules of border regime, 34 people in 23 cases in the Caspian Sea, 1 202 people at border control stations as well as relevant measures taken on them.

As a result of the measures for fight against crime, 470 people, wanted by Azerbaijan's law enforcement authorities, revealed and handed over to relevant authorities.

As a result of the measures for fight against illegal trafficking of drugs, 1 kilogram 742,7 grams drugs have been revealed and seized in 16 cases.

As a result of the measures for fight against smuggling, smuggling of total cost of nearly 106 793 AZN in 69 cases as well as 2 rifles, 1 air pistol, 16 x 9 mm cartridges, 10 x 7,62 mm cartridges, 1 magazine, 1 brass knuckles, 1560 US Dollars, 8 carpets made in Armenia, 11115 boxes of cigarettes, 93 mobile phones, 1 rubber boat, 1624 various medicines, 335 grams of mercury, industrial and agricultural goods have been seized.
