MIA comments on news regarding distribution of drug-containing sweets near Baku school

Baku. 26 January. REPORT.AZ/ The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has commented on the information on some websites spread based on posts of citizens on social networks allegedly distribution of drug-containing sweets to children in front of one of the schools in Baku.

Report informs referring to the press service of the ministry, the information spread on this issue and causing concern of the public is groundless.

The MIA statement says that similar provocative disinformation aimed to confuse citizens was earlier spread regarding schools in the capitals of some countries and recently one of the schools in Aktau, Kazakhstan: "However, none of information was confirmed during investigation".

We state again that the security of all educational institutions in Baku, including the mentioned school, is ensured by modern surveillance cameras, as well as by police guard and other agencies. It should be emphasized that no facts on the distribution or sale of unknown origin products, drug-containing food or food products have been recorded in any secondary school or other educational institution in the country.

Therefore, we urge the citizens not to believe in such fabricated, unsubstantiated reports, not to share such information via social networks and appeal to 102 Call Center of the MIA or local police authorities regarding any violations".
