Khankandi tops the list of most mine-contaminated areas in Azerbaijan

The city of Khankandi has the highest concentration of mine traps among the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, according to Hafiz Safihanov, the head of the public association "Azerbaijan Campaign Against Mines," who spoke during a press conference dedicated to the results of a project aimed at strengthening international support for Azerbaijan's demining efforts.
Safihanov emphasized that since the Patriotic War, millions of manats have been allocated annually for demining operations, according to Report.
Some 94-95% of humanitarian demining in Azerbaijan is carried out at the expense of the state budget, highlighting the country's resolute commitment to clearing its lands of the deadly remnants of war.
