Kazakh expert: Leaked transcripts of AZAL pilots' conversations an attempt at information pressure

The recently leaked transcripts of alleged conversations between Russian airport ground services and AZAL pilots operating the Baku-Grozny flight that crashed near Aktau on December 25 are nothing short of an act of information pressure on Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, according to Kazakh political scientist Dimash Alzhanov.

In an interview with Report's Kazakhstan bureau, Alzhanov stated, "The appearance of such transcripts, which have not received official confirmation, can only be regarded as an attempt to exert informational pressure on Kazakhstan, which is conducting the investigation, and on Azerbaijan, whose plane crashed."

The political scientist noted that the transcripts surfaced on Telegram channels allegedly close to certain circles of the Russian establishment.

"If we talk about the pressure directed at the government of Kazakhstan, it is still unclear what position it will take. There have been no official comments from either Kazakhstan or Azerbaijan following the publication of the recordings on the Internet," Alzhanov said, emphasizing the need to wait for the official report, which will be announced at the end of January.

Alzhanov believes that regardless of the outcome, Kazakhstan will strive to maintain normal relations with both Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation in this situation.
