Indonesia earthquake: Death toll reached 131

Baku. 8 August. REPORT.AZ/ The death toll in the earthquake on the Indonesian island of Lombok has increased to 131 people.

Report informs citing the AFP, official representative of the national Agency for the Prevention of Natural Disasters Sutopo Nugroho.

Notably, according to the information of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, on August 5 an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 occurred on the island of Lombok. At the same time, local authorities declare a magnitude of 7.

The epicenter of the tremors was 49 km to the north-east of the city of Mataram (319 thousand inhabitants), the hearth lay at a depth of 10 km. A tsunami threat was declared, which has been removed on August 6.
