Incident on Azerbaijani-Iranian border: Border guard stabbed

On October 12, at 1:20 pm, a border guard of the Horadiz Border Troops (State Border Service) serving near the Bala Bahmanli village of Fizuli district detected border violation by an unknown person from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Press Center of the SBS told Report.

Outpost immediately dispatched to the scene and conducted search activities. As a result, a trespasser was detained.He resisted border guards when he was captured and attacked one of them with a knife. The serviceman was immediately provided with emergency medical care and his state of health is satisfactory.

During the inspection of the scene, 790 grams of marijuana, 105 grams of heroin and 100 grams of crystalline drugs were found in one package.

The trespasser was identified as resident of Tartar region Yadigarov Etibar Avaz, born in 1990.

A criminal case has been launched into the incident and necessary investigative measures are being taken.
