Illegal currency smuggling from Azerbaijan prevented

Baku. 8 October. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani customs officers have prevented the smuggling of a large amount of currency from the country, the State Customs Committee told Report.

According to the information, the DAF truck driven by an Georgian citizen was inspected in Mazimchay customs posts.

Before the inspection, the Georgian citizen said he has only $1,000. However, the inspection revealed a package with $16,085 in the cabin of the truck.

Investigation into the fact is underway.
