During the trial at the Baku Military Court on March 14, defendant Bako Sahakyan, responding to questions from prosecutors representing the state's position, stated that the so-called "army" of the so-called regime was directly subordinate to the Armenian Armed Forces, according to Report.
Sahakyan explained that the so-called regime's "army" was the largest armed formation within the Armenian military forces.
He further clarified that the appointment of the so-called regime's "defense minister," "chief of the general staff," and other high-ranking positions was made by the Armenian president, based on recommendations from the country's Ministry of Defense. Sahakyan emphasized that he was not involved in these decisions and stated, "We did not hide it."
The defendant admitted that all matters related to the divisions and management of the so-called regime's "military structures" were handled by the Republic of Armenia.
The trial is ongoing for Armenian citizens who face charges of crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes—including orchestrating and conducting an aggressive war, genocide, violations of the laws of war, terrorism, financing terrorism, forcible seizure and retention of power, and numerous other crimes linked to Armenia's military aggression.
