Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbaev has addressed the recent leak of the black box recording from the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane that crashed near Aktau on December 25.
According to Report, in a press conference, Bozumbayev clarified that the leaked recording differs significantly from the actual contents of the black box.
The vice-premier explained that a team of experts from Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Brazil had equal access to the black box data.
"I listened to the leaked recording, and it seems to contain more ground communications and conversations with the ground. I didn't hear any conversations between crew members. The black box contains all the conversations conducted by the captain, pilot, and crew members. There's a bit more in there," Bozumbaev stated, emphasizing that the leak did not originate from the official investigative group.
He assured that the leaked recording vastly differs from the black box contents.
"Why search for the source of the 'leak' if we don't consider it a leak of the black box decryption? Just because someone published something on the internet doesn't mean it's the truth. There's a big difference in what's been published, so wait for official sources," he urged.
According to the deputy PM, the plane's black boxes are currently in the possession of the investigative team, while the wreckage is stored in a hangar in Aktau, undergoing examination by international experts. Bozumbaev expressed confidence that the disclosure of the official materials will dispel many insinuations surrounding the crash.
