452 illegal migrants detained in Azerbaijan last month

Baku. 11 February. REPORT.AZ/ 519 foreigners were detained during the measures taken against illegal migration by the State Migration Service in January of this year, Report informs citing the State Migration Service.

It was stated that 6 of them were identified during the investigation organized jointly with the State Security Service.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that 53 detainees were engaged in activities that are incompatible with the declared purpose, 14 per cent do not live at the place of their registration, while the rest 452 live illegally in the territory of the country.

Administrative decisions have been taken on 438 detained people. Relative measures are also taken to deport 14 other foreigners from the territory of Azerbaijan.

The State Migration Service continues its activities as part of the combat against illegal migration.
