Zagatala hosts International Walnut, Hazelnut and Chestnut Festival

Zagatala region is hosting International Walnut, Hazelnut and Chestnut Festival.

Report's Northwest Bureau informs that the event was organized by the Zagatala Region Executive Power, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Culture and Agrarian Procurement and Supply OJSC. The opening ceremony of the event was held at the Dede Gorgud square in Zagatala.

The event was attended by heads and representatives of the embassies of nearly 20 foreign countries, representatives of the Ministries and state bodies, Milli Majlis deputies, as well as walnut producers and exporters, city guests and local residents.

The main goal of the festival is to demonstrate the economic, cultural and tourism potential of Azerbaijan, as well as Zagatala region.

Guests tasted honey syrup and hazelnut bread in accordance with local tradition.

Zagatala villages, offices and organizations have made beautiful works of art on hazelnut walnut chestnut. The festival also features modern technical equipment used in the collection and processing of hazelnuts.

Various handicrafts made from hazelnuts, walnuts and chestnuts were also popular at the festival.
