Turkish company to create mobile communication network in Aliaga for SOCAR

The implementation of a new project between Turkcell, Turkiye's largest mobile operator, and SOCAR Turkiye, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) in Turkiye, has started, said the Deputy Director of Cooperative Sales of Turkcell, Jeyhun Ozata, Report informs.

Turkcell will create a mobile communication network for SOCAR Turkiye within the framework of a project specially developed for the Aliaga Peninsula, which is one of SOCAR Turkiye's largest investment regions in this country.

"SOCAR will combine Turkiye's information technology vision with Turkcell's robust and unique technological infrastructure to provide an efficient, flexible, scalable infrastructure network.

With this, an essential cooperation between SOCAR Turkiye and Turkcell, considered a first in the energy sector, was signed. Within the framework of this cooperation, Turkcell will build a private LTE network on the Aliaga peninsula in Izmir by building base stations exclusively for SOCAR Turkiye's information technology infrastructure," Ozata said.

The area where SOCAR has significant subsidiaries, such as STAR refinery and Petkim on Turkiye's Aliaga peninsula, is also notable for being Turkiye's first Special Industrial Zone.
