In the first half of this year, 16,993,000 e-mails were processed by the Electronic Mail Service, and 1,416,000 or 8% of them were blocked due to malicious content, Tural Mammadov, Head of the Department of State Service of Special Communication and Information Security (SCSI), said at the Second Summit of IT heads of State Institutions, Report informs.
He said that 15,577,000 or 92% of processed e-mails were delivered to users:
"For other years, malicious e-mails range from about 8-10%, which means that one out of every 10 e-mails is malicious. This is a serious number, and I ask that awareness measures in this direction within the institution be strengthened. Because most cyber-attacks are done with links sent via e-mail."
