Baku. 23 November. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan takes 55th place in global ranking of information and communication technologies (ICT). Report informs, this is stated in the report of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
According to the report, Russia - 43rd position in the ranking, Kazakhstan - 52 th, Armenia - 71. Moldova ranked in 68th place, Georgia - 72nd, and Ukraine - 76th.
The report notes that by the end of 2016. 95 percent of world's population was covered by a mobile cellular signal. More than 47 percent of the world's population is already connected to the Internet.
Republic of Korea for the second year is a leader in the development of information and communication technologies.
The top ten list of 175 countries also includes the seven countries of the European Union, China and Japan.
