Japan to tell Facebook to improve data protection

Baku. 22 October. REPORT.AZ/ TheJapanese government is set to tell Facebook Inc to better protectits users’ personal data.
Report informs that the Japanese government worried onthis issue after a leak involvingBritish firm Cambridge Analytica that affected 87 million users globally, KyodoNews reported on Monday.
First of all, the regulator wants to ensure thatFacebook will promptly respond to users ' requests to delete their data asnecessary.
Moreover, according to the Agency, theCommission intends to demand from the social network to investigate the causesof another theft of personal information of 29 million people registered onFacebook, which occurred in September this year.
After thepublication of the New York Times Facebook found itself in the center of a scandal aboutthe transfer of data to the social network of Cambridge Analytica. According tovarious estimates, it was about the personal data about 87 million users. It also said the Cambridge Analyticaincident potentially affected up to 100,000 users in Japan, and that the cyberattack may also have had an impact on users in Japan.
