Ismat Sattarov: Azerbaijan's radio stations could increase to 19

The number of radio stations in Azerbaijan may increase to 19, Chairman of the Audiovisual Council of Azerbaijan Ismat Sattarov stated, Report informs.

Sattarov made the remark during the event "Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow of Radio Broadcasting in the Republic of Azerbaijan."

"In the past 4-5 years, the number of radio stations has doubled. Two additional radio frequencies are currently up for tender. If the tender is successful, the number of stations in Azerbaijan will reach 19. About 5 years ago, this number was 10-11. We've effectively doubled the number of radio stations," Sattarov emphasized.

He also highlighted that radio stations are now available nationwide: "Previously, there were significant issues in the regions, with people having access to only 1-2 stations. Now, 15 radio stations are operating across the country, giving citizens a wider choice."
