Cooperation between Aztelekom and EBRD discussed in Baku

Aztelecom LLC of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) discussed cooperation in the development of telecommunication infrastructure in the regions of Azerbaijan, Report informs.

The issue was discussed in the meeting of Azerbaijani Minister Rashad Nabiyev with the Director for the EU's Eastern Neighbourhood and Institution Building at the European Commission, Lawrence Meredith.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the EBRD and the European Investment Bank. The EU Economic and Investment Plan and possible priority projects within this plan were discussed. At the same time, issues such as the use of EU financial mechanisms, cooperation on Trans-European transport networks (TEN-T), and digitalization of transport corridors were discussed.

The EU representative was informed about the transport and digitalization projects implemented in Azerbaijan, the importance of the Zangazur Corridor, and the work done in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

The importance of holding the second meeting of the Azerbaijan-EU High-Level Transport Dialogue in Baku in 2023 was noted in terms of expanding cooperation on priority directions.
