Chair of commission: About 1 bln USD can enter Azerbaijan in coming years

Baku. 1 December. REPORT.AZ/ About $1 billion can enter Azerbaijan in 2020-22 years, if Azerbaijani entrepreneurs combine their short-, mid- and long-term objectives to realize “ICT Industry Strategic Development Plan”.

Report informs, Chairman of ICT commission of Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs Ismail Alakbarov said.

“Reforms are envisaged in Azerbaijan in coming years. We think the intellect-based economic model will be at the core of these reforms. Azerbaijan has its own development model, just like economic growth models of countries in South-Eastern Asia and Europe. ICT will play an exclusive role here. Azerbaijani companies do significant works in this direction. There is an open market around Azerbaijan, including CIS, Middle East, Central Asia and Iran, embracing population of 300 million. Huge amount of foreign currency can flow into the country from these markets, as a result of market analysis based on well-thought, specifically constructed plans”, I.Alakbarov told.

According to him, Turkish businessmen have big potential in this sense. Thus, ICT sector of mentioned region is mostly Russian-speaking market, where Azerbaijani businessmen can establish quick contacts: “We have export potential worth hundreds of billions. We can assess our exporting potential and utilize it. Influential Turkish companies can play an important role in this process with their long-term international experience”.

Mentioning particular projects presented by Russian regions in meetings held during recent months, I.Alakbarov added that these works can be implemented in cooperation with Turkish companies who has big experience in Azerbaijan and Europe: “We can conquer these markets together”.
