Azerbaijan ranked 109th among 162 countries in average fixed broadband Internet speed in July 2024, up four notches from June. The average download speed was 40.65 Mbps, Report informs, referring to the Speedtest Global Index.
This is 39.5 percent more than in the same period last year, when it was 29.14 Mbps.
The first place in terms of fixed broadband Internet speed in July 2024 was taken by the UAE (291.85 Mbit/s), and the last place by Afghanistan (3.56 Mbit/s).
In July 2024, Azerbaijan ranked 49th among 109 countries in terms of mobile Internet speed (53.98 Mbit/s).
In terms of mobile Internet speed, the UAE took first place (359.85 Mbit/s) in July 2024, and Yemen took the last place (7.26 Mbit/s).
During the reporting month, Baku moved one notch ahead among 207 cities in terms of fixed broadband Internet speed compared to the previous month and took 134th place (42.13 Mbit/s).
Valparaíso tops the ranking of cities with fixed broadband Internet access (320.47 Mbit/s), and Aleppo (1.95 Mbit/s) ranked the last.
In July, Baku ranked 69th among 162 cities in terms of mobile Internet speed (68.99 Mbit/s).
The first place in terms of mobile Internet speed is taken by Ar-Rayyan (451.02 Mbit/s), and the last place by Kabul (8.01 Mbit/s).
