Asian-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) is looking forward to hosting some of its activities in Azerbaijan.

Report informs referring to ABU Secretary General Javad Mottaghi as saying following the results of his visit to Baku.

J.Mottaghi visited Azerbaijani capital to meet with officials of the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (ITV) and discuss future expansion and strengthening of the partnership between the two sides.

"ABU is the biggest broadcasting union in the world with 280 members in 73 countries. Azerbaijan is a full member of ABU. I had a pleasure of meeting ITV Director General Mr. Balakishi Gasimov. We agreed that this meeting had been very productive. What we discussed with Mr. Gasimov is how best we can develop partnership between Azerbaijan and ABU, our future partnership in news, in programs, in technology, in sports etc.," ABU Secretary General noted.

He expressed a confidence that the two sides will be able to enhance and expand activities, with ABU eventually hosting some of the activities here, in Azerbaijan.

"I came here to expand and extend our partnership. What I see is that the will is there, the will to partner. When there's a will, there is a way to do. I see the future very bright. I see the future partnership between Azerbaijan and Asian countries very broad. As the ABU Secretary General I will do my best to strengthen partnership between the two sides," J.Mottaghi concluded.
