WHO delegation in Baku mulls emergency medical services

The World Health Organization (WHO), together with the Turkish Ministry of Health and the Turkic Council Secretariat, led a three-day joint mission to Baku, Report informs referring to the WHO website.

The mission arrived in Baku to discuss emergency medical services and support for response-related capacity-building with national health authorities and other potential stakeholders.

During the visit to Baku, WHO met with other leaders in emergency health care as well as representatives of United Nations agencies and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

In the short term, WHO, in collaboration with Turkey’s Ministry of Health, will use the Turkic Council’s intergovernmental platform to update training materials and improve the quality of technical education being offered in the country by engaging relevant professional entities at the global level.

In the longer term, WHO will also work with partners and the academic sector to draft a road map for improving emergency medical service delivery in Azerbaijan.
