Twelve patients, including minors, underwent liver transplantation from a living donor in Liv Bona Dea Hospital, Eldar Ahmadov, a transplant surgeon, said at the press conference at the hospital.
Stating that transplantation requires a great deal of professionalism, the surgeon said that in this case, the presence of a professional team is a must:
"Liver transplantation is considered one of the most difficult surgeries. I am proud that we successfully performed such difficult surgeries for our country. We performed transplantation from a living donor on 12 of our patients during this period.
All of the surgeries were successfully performed. We can proudly say that Azerbaijan has a professional team that will carry out such surgeries."
