Scientists reveal conditions under which coronavirus can be beaten

The development of population immunity in citizens is the only condition to defeat COVID-19.

Report informs, referring to foreign media, that according to scientists at the University of California, only mass contamination can contribute to the development of such immunity.

Besides, the researchers expect the coronavirus pandemic to end in about 12-18 months. An essential condition for this is the development of so-called "herd immunity" in the population.

"There is no effective vaccine against COVID-19 for now. The approximate time of its creation is still unknown. In such a situation, the victory in the fight against the disease can be expected under one condition: if the number of infected and recovered people will be large, it will provide the necessary mass immunity to the virus. They will no longer be sick and will not transmit the virus to others, which will prevent further spread of the infection," the scientists explain.

But if the coronavirus mutates and transforms into another disease, it can lead to a new wave of mass infections with its updated version.

Specialists also emphasize that for now, it is necessary to achieve inhibition of the rapid growth of infection with coronavirus, so that medicine can cope with the flow of patients.
