Breakfast is traditionally considered one of the most important meals, but if a person is used to a different daily routine and has no health problems, there is no need to force oneself to have breakfast, Antonina Starodubova, chief nutritionist of the Moscow Department of Health, told RIA Novosti, Report informs.

“Recent research shows that eating regularly is important for the body. However, if you are used to a different daily routine, have a normal body weight and no health problems, you may not force yourself have breakfast, if you are not used to it,” Starodubova said.

She noted that breakfasts should be balanced and varied in order to provide the body with all the necessary nutrients: proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. There are many tasty dishes, simple and quick to prepare, that can be served for breakfast.

“For example, porridge made from whole grains, not completely threshed cereals - buckwheat, oatmeal, millet, wheat; various dairy products of low-fat content - cottage cheese, yogurt, fermented baked milk, low-fat varieties of cheese; egg dishes - scrambled eggs, and so on. Cottage cheese can be cooked with fresh herbs or berries, porridge can be supplemented with fruits and nuts, and an omelet with various vegetables - bell peppers, broccoli, spinach, zucchini. Vegetable or fruit salad will also perfectly fit into the breakfast menu,” the doctor clarified.
