Head of Narcology Center of Azerbaijan reveals causes of drug addiction

Director-General of the Republican Narcology Center of Azerbaijan Orkhan Jafarov has revealed the causes of drug addiction, Report informs.

Jafarov mentioned single-parent families, divorce, limited time with children, and lack of supervision as examples.

He said that sometimes parents do not control when and where the money given to their children is spent.

“This also encourages drug addiction among minors. The first excuses of drug users in the upper age group were related to family social problems, lack of money, low mood, as well as the presence of drug users around them. If we look at the world experience, according to statistics, a drug user is able to convince at least 2 or 4 people a year to use drugs,” he added.
