213 Countries and Territories worldwide have reported a total of 30 038 634 confirmed cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 that originated from Wuhan, China, and a death toll of 945,099 deaths. Of those 945 099 people have recovered, Report says.

Thus, another 8 million people worldwide have contracted the coronavirus in the last month.

The United States (6,828,301), India (5,118,253), and Brazil (4,421,686) have seen the highest number of infections.

As of September 17, 38,658 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Azerbaijan, 36,149 of those recovered, while 569 coronavirus patients passed away.

Turkey, a country bordering Azerbaijan, has confirmed 296,391 COVID-19 cases, with 262,602 recoveries and 7,249 deaths. So far, 1,079,519 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Russia. Of those, 890,114 have recovered, and 18,917 died. Iran saw the highest number of infections, with 410,334 confirmed COVID-19 cases. According to the latest information, 23,632 people died with coronavirus in this country. The total number of people infected with the coronavirus in neighboring Georgia has reached 2,758. 1,412 of them have already recovered, while 19 died.

So far, Armenia has reported 46,376 COVID-19 cases, resulting in 42,069 recoveries and deaths. 

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
