A single dose of the vaccine against the novel coronavirus reduces the risk of COVID-19 transmission from infected people almost twofold, according to Public Health England.

Report informs, citing TASS, that the possibility of coronavirus transmission dropped by 38-49% in the cases when people received their first dose of the Pfizer or AstraZeneca jab and were infected no earlier than three weeks after vaccination.

"This is terrific news – we already know vaccines save lives, and this study is the most comprehensive real-world data showing they also cut transmission of this deadly virus," UK Health Minister Matt Hancock said.
