Children's infection with COVID-19 is inevitable since they are from a risk group, an expert with the Health Ministry, infectious disease specialist Tayyar Eyvazov said, as quoted by Report.
He noted that the representatives of an older generation from the risk group had been vaccinated.
"Most of them contracted the virus and formed natural immunity. Today, the vaccination of teens above 12 is allowed in the country. Most countries recommend that children above five years of age be vaccinated. Unfortunately, this was not welcomed in Azerbaijan. Anyway, children have milder symptoms of the disease than adults," Eyvazov said.
