Chief medical advisor to US president: Impossible to eradicate coronavirus

Chief Medical Advisor to US President Anthony Fauci believes that it is impossible to “eradicate” the coronavirus, but hopes that restrictions related to coronavirus will soon be abandoned, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.

"There is no way we can eradicate this virus... But I hope that the time is approaching when enough people will be vaccinated (or) protected from a previous infection, and COVID-related restrictions will soon be a thing of the past," Fauci said in an interview with the Financial Times newspaper.

He added that he did not think every American would need regular vaccine boosters to keep the virus at bay. “It will depend on who you are,” he said. “But if you are a normal, healthy 30-year-old person with no underlying conditions, you might need a booster only every four or five years.”
