Azerbaijan to soften some of toughest COVID-19 restrictions in October

In view of the rise in the number of the vaccinated citizens across the country and the steady decline in the dynamics of the infection, it was decided to apply the next stage of mitigating measures within the framework of a special quarantine mode in Azerbaijan.

By a decision of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers from October 1, 2021, the restriction on public transport on weekends, as well as the Baku Metro, will be lifted, Report informs.

In addition, from October 1, 2021, the activities of the following sectors and services will resume:

- activities of recreation and entertainment facilities (including clubs), as well as children's entertainment facilities;

- activities of cultural facilities (including concert halls), as well as conference rooms, cinemas, theaters, provided that they do not exceed 50 percent of the total capacity;

- activities of children's and other entertainment centers at large shopping centers, as well as cinemas with a total capacity of not more than 50 percent.

The restored work and service areas are open until 0000 hours, and the services provided in the closed areas can only be used by persons over 18 years of age with a COVID-19 passport.
