159.3 million people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 worldwide, Report informs, citing TASS.

This figure refers to the vaccination of 2% of the world's 7,795,000,000-strong population.

An average of 6 million people a day got their vaccine doses in the past week. As of February 3, the number of those immunized has exceeded the number of those infected.

According to the information, 107.8 million people worldwide have contracted COVID-19, while more than 2.3 million people have died of the deadly virus.

The number of vaccinated population is the highest in the United States - 48 million people. China holds second place, with more than 40 million vaccinated. The United Kingdom is third with 14.1 million people immunized against the novel coronavirus.
