A delegation of international election observers comprised of 20 representatives of international youth organisations as well as partner organisations such as the Youth Participation and Intercultural Dialogue Association, Report informs. The delegates were part of the International Election Observation Mission to the Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan implemented by Citizen Public Union, with the support of the Social Cooperation Center. Many of the delegates were based in the city of Baku, while several others deployed to various cities and regions of the country (namely Ganja, Sumgayit, Sheki, Guba, Shamakhi, Gabala).

“Cleary, many young people are actively engaged both as observers and as candidates; however, some candidates expressed concerns as to the impartiality of the electoral process,” stated Bastian De Monte, an election observer from Austria.

“After having observed the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, I was generally satisfied with the conduct of voting operations, however there were inconsistencies, which can be corrected for future elections,” said Niklas Milthers, international observer from Denmark.

A member of the observation mission from UK, Peter Douglas Banks noted they observed that turnout was low in all polling places. He believes that the election to Milli Majlis was satisfactory and added that "the elections held in our country - United Kingdom and Azerbaijan are different, it would be unfair to compare them."
