Azerbaijan demonstrates commitment to the basic principle of the Agenda of sustainable development for the period until 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals - 'Leave no one behind," Guido Ambroso, head of the UNHCR's Azerbaijani representative office, said, as quoted by Report.

He noted that when he arrived in Azerbaijan for the first time, he saw many displaced persons who were forced to flee their homes due to the First Karabakh War. Guido Ambroso added that Azerbaijani IDPs demonstrated strength and resilience.

According to Ambroso, returning IDPs to their homes will take time, adding that de-mining works are still underway.
