Turkiye to provide Azerbaijan with 10 GPS stations

Turkiye is supposed to give 10 GPS stations to Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the Republican Seismic Survey Center (RSSCA) under ANAS.

The general director of the center, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Gurban Yetirmisli visited Turkiye.

Within the framework of the visit, he held a number of business meetings at the Kandilli Observatory, the Earthquake Department of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs' Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the Regional Earthquake-Tsunami Monitoring Center, and Bogazici University.

Issues such as the expansion of cooperation in the field of seismology between the two countries, installation of a seismic station in Shusha with the support of AFAD, joint participation of seismologists of the two brother countries in international mega projects, mutual exchange of seismic station data were discussed at the meetings.

Turkiye plans to provide 10 GPS stations to Azerbaijan.
