Turkish expert: Return of Western Azerbaijanis to benefit Armenia

The right to residing in their native land within the borders of Armenia by immigrants from Western Azerbaijan will be beneficial for both countries, Turkish military intelligence specialist, Colonel Coskun Basbug told the Turkish bureau of Report.

He noted that Armenia must put an end to the unfair, provocative approach and ensure the right of Azerbaijanis to return to their ancestral lands.

“Azerbaijan now supports the desire of Azerbaijanis to return to their lands located within the borders of Armenia. This process will happen sooner or later, and Armenia must accept these conditions,” he said.

According to Basbug, Armenia can benefit from this, since the 3+3 platform will open a completely new page in the life of this country: “Armenia is the poorest country in the region, and in the South Caucasus, the 3+3 platform will give the greatest impetus to its economy. Yerevan should understand that Azerbaijan will support its compatriots as long as people from Western Azerbaijan live within the borders of Armenia.”
